All three absent from Securities Board Chairmans interview, process likely to be cancelled

5 people who were shortlisted by the recommendation committee formed for the appointment of the chairman were called for the presentation of the action plan and interview earlier on Sunday. Only 2 people were present on Sunday, after the remaining 3 people were absent, it was called again for 9 o'clock on Wednesday.

Santosh Narayan Shrestha, who was shortlisted, and Mukti Shrestha, executive director of the Securities Board, presented the action plan and gave an interview on Sunday. Executive Director of the Board Navraj Adhikari, CEO of Nepal Stock Exchange Krishna Bahadur Karki and former Chairman of Insurance Committee Chiranjeevi Chapagain were absent from the shortlist.

There is a strong possibility that the process of appointing the board chairman will be cancelled. There is a provision that the recommendation committee should recommend at least 3 names to the Council of Ministers for the chairmanship of the board.
